‘King’ gauging wait

A date for the movement of ‘King’ No. 6023 King Edward II to the West Somerset Railway, for running‑in and main line testing, was still to be announced as this issue of Steam Railway went to press. Gauging measurement of the 1930‑built engine took place in early March, and the Great Western Society is awaiting the results.
