Bequest funds Lynton property purchase

A bequest has allowed the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust to buy a property in Parracombe, which includes an eighth of a mile of trackbed. The late Gerald Chandler, a long-standing LBR supporter, bequeathed his house in Dorset to the trust, which will sell the house in Parracombe while keeping the required land for the railway. The trust and its linked company, Exmoor Associates, now own all the land between Woody Bay and Parracombe Churchtown about 1½ miles in length.
