The first LSWR Beattie 2‑4‑0WT arrived at Wadebridge in May 1893. However, No. 248 had to be brought in by sea from Southampton because the North Cornwall line was not yet connected to the rest of the railway network! The railway finally reached Wadebridge in 1895.
