JOHN PEARCE, 1937-2017

John Pearce, one of the West Somerset Railway’s founder members and longest serving supporters, died on February 16 at the age of 79. He was chairman of the WSR Association for several years, and earned the affectionate nickname ‘Arkwright’ as full-time manager of Bishops Lydeard station shop. His funeral was held at Taunton Deane Crematorium on March 7, and a memorial train on the WSR is planned for April.
