BRAKE VAN BACK

LMS-design 20-ton brake van No. B950236 made its preservation debut at the Llangollen Railway’s ‘Along Birkenhead Lines’ gala on March 3-5. Built under BR auspices at Derby in 1950, it was rescued as a burnt-out wreck from Holyhead by a group of LR members in 2010. Its restoration, carried out mainly at Oswestry, included the complete replacement of the body.
