FROG KISSED, JOB DONE?

-

May 15, 6.25am… TV, politicians and well-wishers see a morning train off on its regular 29-mile run. What’s different? Today, the early service is steam - for the first time in more than three years. May 16, 6.25am… still steam, but no TV. The early train is already ‘normal’. Yes, Wolsztyn is back (see News and SR467); and with it, what Howard Jones sees as a little ‘Polish Old Oak’ gains a whole new life. So, frog kissed, job done? Well, yes, except that as the Wolsztyn Experience chairman himself says, the world’s only regular main line steam passenger services can only survive with support. Only time will prove if that support is there - but the message is that if you want it, use it!
