MOORS INCLINE DIG

An archaeological dig was held on the former Whitby & Pickering Railway rope-worked incline near Goathland in late July and early August. North York Moors National Park Authority hoped to find the remains of the stationmaster’s house and other railway structures at the top of the 1-in-10, 1,500-yard incline.
