MOORS IN­CLINE DIG

An ar­chae­o­log­i­cal dig was held on the for­mer Whitby & Pick­er­ing Rail­way rope-worked in­cline near Goath­land in late July and early Au­gust. North York Moors Na­tional Park Author­ity hoped to find the re­mains of the sta­tion­mas­ter’s house and other rail­way struc­tures at the top of the 1-in-10, 1,500-yard in­cline.
