‘Wolsztyn World Steam extravaganza’: June 21-25 2018
For only the second time since the Second World War, a British steam locomotive will operate in Poland – and you can join us to help celebrate 21 years of the Wolsztyn Experience. Subject to at least 40 people booking, the threeday event will include a series of special trains: Wolsztyn-Gorzów (return) Wolsztyn-Głogów-Jarocin (return) Leszno-Wschowa (return) Wolsztyn-Nowy Tomy´sl-Wolsztyn (twice) Specials to Rakoniewice, Stefanowo and Nowa Wie´s Mochy These specials and the normal scheduled services (Wolstyn-Leszno and Wolstyzn-Poznan´ ) will be used to facilitate three further exciting events. Triple and double-departures from Wolsztyn. Parallel running on the Warsaw main line. Two trains passing at a closing speed of 100mph. In addition, there will be a photo-freight and a branch line passenger service. Details of special photographic events and timings will remain under wraps until issued to our group on arrival in Poland. All this will provide participants with a unique photographic and ‘gricing’ experience. To top it off, there will be a gala dinner with a firework display, where you will have the chance to meet the Polish crews and those who made the gala possible. The cost, including four nights’ B&B, tickets on all special trains, an invitation to the dinner and fireworks and access to unique photo shoots is £579, based on two persons sharing. For those wishing to also take full advantage of Wolsztyn’s scheduled services, accommodation for additional nights may be purchased at £22 per night.
