NENE VALLEY RAILWAY TO HOST FOUR LNER NAMERS IN 2018

All three LNER CMEs will be represented at the Nene Valley Railway this year, as the line will host a quartet of East Coast Main Line motive power throughout 2018. Gresley ‘A3’ No. 60103 Flying Scotsman becomes the fourth LNER locomotive booked to grace the Peter boroughWansford line this year( see above), following confirmation that ‘A4’ No. 60009 Union of South Africa would be making a return visit for the NVR’s ‘Pacifics’ event on September 1/2. ‘Number Nine’ last visited the NVR on September 16-18 last year. The Gresley pair follow in the footsteps of Peppercorn ‘A1’ No. 60163 Tornado and Thompson ‘B1’ No. 61306 ‘Mayflower’, which have been booked for the NVR’s ‘Tornado 10’ event on May 5-7 (SR476).
