• MNR CROSSING RENEWAL
Yaxham Road level crossing, at Dereham on the Mid-Norfolk Railway, has been renewed in a £150,000 project. Contractors Sonic Rail Services replaced the crossing deck and track, and rewired the warning lights, during a road closure on May 27-31. The MNR remains operational despite the coronavirus lockdown, with some staff and volunteers classed as essential workers, because of its contract with Greater Anglia to store multiple units, involving an average of three or four workings to or from the main line each week.
