HOW TO GET THERE

-

BY TRAIN ScotRail operates regular trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow and Inverness, all calling at Aviemore. Trains from other routes connect into these services at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Kirkcaldy, Stirling, Perth and Inverness. Trains arrive at Platform 1 or 2 at Aviemore station. The Strathspey Railway is on Platform 3. LNER and Caledonian Sleeper trains call at Aviemore.

BY CAR Aviemore station: From the South, head north up the A9 from Perth and turn off at the first exit marked Aviemore (B9152). In 150m, turn left at junction with the B9152 and follow the road to the roundabout at entrance to Aviemore. Take the third exit B970 (for Coylumbridge) and in 180m turn left onto Dalfaber Road. Travel 500m and turn left into the Highland Council car park. Proceed through car park for 180m to arrive at Strathspey Railway’s car park. A ramped walkway gives access to Platform 3.

From the North: Head south from Inverness on the A9. DO NOT take the first access to Aviemore (A95) as you will then have to drive through Aviemore village. It is quicker to take the next turning on the left, approx. 3.2 miles from this junction. Then refer to the directions (above) from the South to get to the car park.

Boat of Garten: Signposted from the A95. Drop-off point at the station building beside ‘The Boat Hotel’ with level access to the platform. Parking is in the station yard. Access from car park to platform is by footbridge.

Broomhill: Just off the A95 on the minor road linking to the B970 in Nethy Bridge. The car park is located beside the station building and provides near level access to the platform.
