Company want to seek the public’s opinion on proposal
Plans for a supermarket at Dunblane could be scrapped.
Gladman Developments has revealed proposals for up to 80 homes to be built at Barbush.
The company was previously granted planning permission at the site for a supermarket and office development to be constructed.
However at a public exhibition at Dunblane Sports Club last month, the revised plans were unveiled.
The company said it wanted to seek the public’s opinion on the proposals before bringing forward a formal application.
A statement issued at the event said: “Gladman want to hear your views with regard to the design of the proposed development. Your views will help us to shape the masterplan which will be submitted as part of the planning application. This is your opportunity to comment and influence the planning of the site before the application is lodged with Stirling Council. You will also have a further opportunity to provide comment to the council during the planning application process.”
Planning permission for a supermarket at the site to the north of the town was granted in October 2012.
The development was said to have the potential to create up to 370 jobs in the area. The site had previously been linked with Sainsbury’s, however a Gladman spokesman said at the hearing they had ceased talks with potential operators while awaiting the outcome of the process.
The hearing had centred around the impact of the development on existing Dunblane traders, however councillors opted to give the plans the green light.
