Festival of Creative Ageing
Events are being held in Stirling which examine ageing and aim to bring generations together.
Luminate’s Festival of Creative Ageing is being held throughout October at venues across Scotland.
Local events taking place include Dementia Friendly, featuring traditional Scots musicians Robyn Stapleton and Claire Hastings, on Tuesday (October 25). The event is an afternoon out where you get to relax and enjoy live entertainment followed by refreshments.
Creative Cowane’s takes place at Cowane’s Hospital every Wednesday until October 26. Participants will creatively explore ancient Stirling from the perspective of 16th Century Merchant John Cowane.
They will be able to find architecture, public monuments, poetry and inscriptions with opportunities to photograph or draw their findings if desired.
Visitors can also enjoy a tour of the Cowane’s Hospital with Scotland’s oldest bowling green and walks at neighbouring historic sites. Walks are short and suitable for all.
The festival is in its fifth year and explores ageing in its many guises, and offers opportunities to try something new whatever your age.
It is supported by Creative Scotland, the Baring Foundation and Age Scotland.
