Musical features biggest selling single of all time

Christmas is coming early to the Macrobert.

Stirling and Bridge of Allan Operatic Society embark on their production of White Christmas The Musical – featuring one of the most famous songs ever written from today (Wednesday). According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Bing Crosby version of White Christmas – written by Irving Berlin and recorded in 1942 for the film Holiday Inn – is the biggestsel­ling single of all time, winning an Oscar before appearing again in 1954 in the film of the same name.

White Christmas, the musical, premiered in San Francisco in 2004 and is based on the famous movie. The score by Irving Berlin also features Blue Skies, Sisters, and Let Yourself Go.

Tickets are still available for the show which runs until Saturday (October 22) at 7.30pm each night plus matinees at 2.30pm today and Saturday.
