Plea after teen sex assault

Police were yesterday (Thursday) continuing to investigat­e a sexual assault on a teenager in Dunblane.

A 16-year-old girl was the victim of an indecent assault which occurred on Saturday (October 30).

The incident took place as the girl was walking in a lane which connects Kellie Wynd and Menteith View at around 11.30pm.

Police have launched an online appeal for informatio­n, and have carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area.

The investigat­ion is being led by Stirling CID, and inquiries were said to be ongoing yesterday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant Johnny Dreczkowsk­i said the young woman was left upset by what had happened.

He said: “The victim was understand­ably very shaken by this and we’re conducting a number of enquiries in the area in an effort to trace the perpetrato­r.

“We’re also appealing for the public’s help and I’d urge anyone who may have seen this male in the area, or who recognises his descriptio­n, to come forward.”

The suspect is described as a white male, aged 16 to 25 years old, five foot 11 inches tall, of average build and he spoke with a strong Scottish accent. He was wearing dark-coloured Conversest­yle trainers and a top with dark sleeves.
