Braco and Greenloani­ng

The WI is having a Knitathon tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am-noon in Braco Hall in aid of the Big Issue Foundation.

All invited to come along and knit squares, hats, scarves, etc. Wool will be available or bring your own.

Refreshmen­ts available.

Buchlyvie

The next meeting will be held in the village hall on Tuesday, November 8 at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Gillian Sandyford.

Competitio­ns are a recipe for a healthy supper dish and a favourite umbrella.

Hostesses are Eileen Mayhew, Maude McGowan, Elspeth McNaughton and Agnes McLaren.

Drymen

The next meeting will be held in the village hall on Thursday, November 10 at 7.30pm when there will be a demonstrat­ion of Christmas Floral Art by Mrs Janet Iffla.

The competitio­ns for the evening are a wrapped Christmas parcel (wrapping only to be judged); microwave Christmas pudding (given recipe).

All welcome, visitors £3.

Ruskie

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 8 starting at 7.30pm in Ruskie Hall.

Sue Everett, from Perth, will give a talk on her intererst in sewing and demonstrat­e how to make fabric flowers and will have a selection of her homemade items for sale.

Competitio­ns: handmade Christmas decoration and favourite bauble.

Hostesses are Sheenagh Beaton, Norma Brewster and Christine Hamilton.

Strathendr­ick

The Autumn Group meeting at Drymen last week was a happy occasion with Ian Milligan’s Brass Band from Callander.

The Pines Rosebowl was won by Liz Hay, Drymen, for her competitio­n entry,
