Remembranc­e Sunday There will be a rehearsal for organisati­ons, colour parties and wreath bearers on Friday, November 11 at 7pm in Alva Parish Church. Following the service on Sunday, the parade will leave the church around 11.30am and will proceed to the cenotaph, led by the Clackmanna­n District Brass Band. Alva Pensioners There will be a bingo tea tonight (Wednesday), eyes down at 7.30pm. The monthly dance is on Saturday, November 26 at 7.30pm. Music provided by Raymond Carse. A light supper will be served. Christmas fayrel Christmas celebratio­ns begin on Saturday, November 26 with a Christmas Fayre in the Cochrane Hall from 12.30pm. Miners Welfare Social Club Bingo Mondays and Wednesdays at 8pm. Bannockbur­n Community Council Meetings take place in the community centre on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm. Allan Church Remembranc­e Sunday service is at 10.45am, gathering at the memorial cenotaph after the service. Sunday school during service and creche available. Stirling Christadel­phian Church Hour at the church at 40 Main Street, Bannockbur­n, is held every Sunday from 2.30pm with Sunday school at the same time. Winter Fayre Bannockbur­n Primary School’s fund raising committee is holding its annual winter fayre on Friday, November 18 from 6-8pm in the school. Bible Lunch Club The lunch club meets on Wednesdays in the Crawford Hall, Colquhoun Street from 1-3pm and the older members of the community are invited. They will be welcome to come on their own or with a friend or carer. Bingo East Argyll Centre in Colquhoun Street has bingo every Tuesday, eyes down 7.30pm. Bridge of Allan Parish Church Remembranc­e Sunday service starts at the earlier time of 10.50am and will be conducted by Rev Dan Harper. There will be a retiring offering in aid of Poppyscotl­and. Remembranc­e Sunday A short service of Remembranc­e will be held on Sunday, November 13 at 2pm at the Cenotaph in Pullar Memorial Park to honour the war dead fallen in years gone by and today in far off lands. It is hoped that there will be a large turnout of all ages to pay respect for life lost in war, for great bravery and hope for a better tomorrow. St Saviour’s Episcopal Church Eucharist (Communion) services are at the usual times: Sunday at 8am with 10asm Sung Eucharist. Young church and creche take place in the church hall during the 10am service. Coffee/ tea are served in the church hall after the 10am Eucharist. Wednesdays at 11am in the Choir Vestry. On Remembranc­e Sunday Sung Eucharist is at 10am with Act of Remembranc­e and at 2pm there is a Service of Remembranc­e in Pullar Memorial Park. On Saturday, November 19, a Grand Advent Bazaar takes place from 9.4511.45am in Bridge of Allan Parish Church Hall. Flu Vaccine Clinics Annual flu vaccinatio­n clinics will be held on Tuesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 17. Please contact the practice as soon as possible to book your appointmen­t. Everyone eligible for the vaccinatio­n is encouraged to attend as there will be limited clinics following this to offer the vaccine. The flu vaccine is available to everyone over 65 years or under 65 if you are pregnant; an unpaid carer or have a condition such as asthma, diabetes or any other long-term illness. Clinic dates have also been arranged for children aged two-five years old who are not attending school – please contact the health centre to arrange an appointmen­t on 01786 833210 (option 5). If you are under 65 years and do not come into any of the above categories but wish the vaccinatio­n you should enquire at your local pharmacy.
