NHS Forth Valley is looking for a new non-executive member to join its board .

You don’t need to be a health expert or have previous board experience - but be quick as today (Friday) is the deadline for applications.

NHS FV is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 300,000 people living in Forth Valley, and provides a wide range of community and hospital based health services for populations covering a geographic area as far as Killin, Tyndrum, Strathblane and Bo’ness. The board recently published a new healthcare strategy which sets out its plans and priorities for the next five years.

Chairman Alex Linkston said:“Some of our members bring experience from their own area of expertise such as a financial or education background. Others have held various roles in the community.

“We are asking people with an interest in health and public service, but who may not have thought of being a non-executive board member, to consider applying. This is a challenging but rewarding role and you will be offered the training and support youneed to make a strong contribution.”

The post will take up around eight hours a week and members usually serve for a minimum of four years with a remuneration of £8,169 a year. More information can be found on the national public appointments website: www.appointed-forscotland.org or by calling 0300 244 1898 (Freephone).
