Christmas Market Shop for Christmas at the many stalls selling in the market in the Village Hall on Saturday November 26 from 1-4pm organised by Playgroup/Toddlers. Entry is £2, concession­s £1.50 and children 50p, which includes tea and home baking. Santa has also promised to be present. Bowling Members and friends are welcome at Fintry Leisure Centre for a fun event this Sunday, November 20, at 2pm. Presentati­on of prizes for the season will take place around 5pm and there will be a raffle. Tennis Club Members and friends are reminded of the AGM in the Crosskeys Hotel on Wednesday, November 23, at 8pm. Poppies The sale of Remembranc­e Poppies throughout the village this year has raised the splendid sum of £1446.90. Convener Stuart Rutherford is grateful for the support received, in particular thanks to the door-to-door collectors and local businesses. Concert ‘Worlds and Music from The Somme’, the them of the Classics in Kippen concert last Saturday evening, was much enjoyed by a large audience. Mr Andrew Robertson OBE LLB, chairman of Erskine, warmly thanked the all concerned in an excellent fundraisin­g evening. The sum of £8400 has been raised to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and the funding of Erskine Hospital. Coffee Morning To aid the Over 60s Christmas dinner, exhibition and entertainm­ent there will be a coffee morning in the Reading Room tomorrow (Saturday) 10am until noon with everyone very welcome. Over 60s This year’s Christmas dinner is planned for Monday, December 5. To help raise much needed funds for this, there will be a coffee morning in the Reading Rooms tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am till noon. Entry fee is £2.50/£1.50 including homebaking/tea/coffee/juice, with all donations going towards the running of the Christmas gathering. Invitation­s for the dinner will be going out mid November, for those wishing to attend who are missed out or not on the list of attendees, invites will be available to be picked up at the coffee morning or from McNicoll Parish Church Morning worship on Sunday, November 20, will be at 10am.
