Kirk Youth Prayer meeting on Sunday, November 27, from 10-11am in the JAM meeting room (room 2). All welcome. All-Age service at 11.15am on Sunday in the Kirk conducted by Rev Jim Brown and Time for Silence at 8pm. Christmas teas, home made mince pies and scones will be served in the Kirk Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 10.30am until 1.30pm when there will be a stall with delicious home baking to rival Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood plus a waffle stall and a craft stall for that last minute present - all funds raised will go back to the church. On behalf of the FUN(D) Raising Team we thank you in advance for your support. Admission (inc tea/coffee, mince pie and a scone) adults £3, family ticket (two adults and up to four children 5-16) £7. The Craigard Club is a senior citizens lunch and social club who meet in Callander Kirk Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am until 1pm during the school term time. New members most welcome so please come along and join us. Callander Kirk Junior Choir will be singing in the Square on Saturday December 3 from noon until 1pm - please come along and joint the celebratio­n, all welcome. T-Pot Café in Callander Kirk Hall closes on Wednesday, November 30, reopening in February. Our thanks to all who have helped and to all who have enjoyed these coffee mornings. We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Walk in the Park Short walks in and around Callander. Next walk is Tuesday, November 29. Meet at the Meadows car park at 10.20am for Meadows and Tullipan. Strength and balance exercise for older adults after the Tuesday walk in the fire station from 2-3pm. 7.30pm in Kilmadock Church for the first of an Advent series of reflection­s. Stewart Cochrane, curator of Ellisland Farm (built by Robert Burns’ family in 1788) is a Burns enthusiast and will give a talk to open eyes to the real Robert Burns. Killearn Kirk On November 27, the first Sunday of Advent, the Rev Lee Messeder leads the service at 10.30am, at which time creche and Kirk Kids will come together. At 2pm, there will be a service at Abbeyfield, to which all are welcome. The young mothers group meet on Monday at 1.15pm. Each Friday from noon to 12.30pm, there is Eating and Praying Psalms in the session house with time for reflection, prayer and fellowship. On Saturday December 3 at 7.30pm, in aid of church funds, there will be a Celebratio­n of Robert Burns with songs and readings when Stuart Cochrane, curator and resident of Elliesland Farm, will talk about the poet who built his family home in 1788. Tickets - £15 (under-16s free) inclusive of refreshmen­ts and a taster of haggis - are available from any elder or at the door.

Church The service in the church on Sunday at 11.15am will be led by Rev Mark Dalton. All are welcome to attend. Guild Christmas Dinner The Christmas Dinner for Guild members and friends will take place at 7.15pm on Tuesday December 13 in the Inn at Kippen. The cost is £23 including service charge. Cappuccino Chatter All welcome to Cappuccino Chatter in the Church House on Wednesday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am. Christmas Market Kippen Christmas Market takes place in the Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 1-4pm, admission adults £2, concession­s £1.50, children 50p. Homebaking, tea and coffee are included in the entry fee. There will be a great range of stalls selling everything you need for your Christmas list and Santa will be in his fabulous grotto for the kids. There’s also a raffle with some outstandin­g prizes. All funds raised will contribute to the running of Kippen Playgroup and Toddlers. Kirk News The Christmas issue of Kirk News will be available in the foyer for distributo­rs this Sunday. Flower Show All interested in this August event are welcome at the AGM in The Inn at Kippen on Thursday, December 1, at 8pm. Sports Field The AGM of the Kippen Sports Developmen­t Group will take place in the Reading Room on Thursday, December 8 at 7pm with everyone welcome. Used Stamps Heather Dunlop, 10 Oakwood, welcomes used stamps to aid a charity for the blind. Leave a narrow margin of paper round the stamps and hand them to Heather or leave them for her in McNicoll’s Stores. Over 60s The recent coffee morning in the Reading Rooms raised over £180 towards this year’s Christmas gathering. The committee would like to thank all those individual­s who supported this event, including local groups and societies who have been very generous. Replies for the Christmas lunch are due in by November 28. Bowling Members and friends enjoyed a social afternoon last Sunday at Fintry Sports Club. Norrieston Church As the minister is away on holiday this week, the service on Sunday at 10am will be conducted once again by the Rev Mark Dalton, a Naval Chaplain at Faslane. As this will be the first Sunday in Advent the Candle of Hope will be lit.
