Sensory Centre raises fair sum

-

Forth Valley Sensory Centre raised £1900 at its recent winter fair.

And the largest total ever has already been earmarked for developing a number of new services and groups within the Camelon-based centre.

For the first time ever, the winter fair made use of the centre’s sensory garden with activities for youngsters, a visit from Santa, balloon animals and face painting.

Inside the centre, there were raffles, tombola and a variety of stalls while entertainment came from the Sensory Singers, a group made up of visual and hearing impaired vocalists.

The event coincided with the first Camelon Community Festival which saw rides and food stalls on the centre car park.

Lynne Frail, fundraising co-ordinator said:“People look forward to our winter fair every year but this was the biggest, most ambitious one in our 10-year history. Opening up the garden gave us room to put on different activities and thanks to our army of volunteers we were able to put on a fantastic event for all the family.”

The event was supported by Lightways, Boots, Morrisons, Falkirk Roundtable, Falkirk Delivers, Mitie and DWP.
