Riverside Drama Club

-

Well done to the Riverside Drama Club for their pantomime run last week of Sleeping Beauty at the Cowane Centre.

My daughter Katie went to see the show with the Brownies last week and had a great time. I’m told the club, which has been running since 1941, makes all of its own costumes and sets. They looked The hamster has arrived and the name has been settled. As I mentioned last week, Lady Squeekington Rodentbeast was unfortunately somewhat of a frontrunner, meaning I was “Mean-Dad”for a few days, having to constantly utter“not a chance in hell”when the name came up.

The hamster has been named “Izzy”, surprisingly after the name of the company that manufacturers the cage it now lives in. Izzy spends much of its time running on its wheel, which sounds exactly the same when heard through a wall as the tumble dryer, meaning Anne is getting bored of hearing me ask “have you a washing on?”Izzy bit Matthew last week; given his reaction you would have thought he was being mauled by a bear rather than bitten by a hamster. However, small teething issues aside, Izzy has settled in and the kids are besotted with her. I’m still convinced that will change before the end of year leaving Anne and I with cage cleaning duties for the rest of its life.
