Those facing a housing crisis this Christmas are being advised that they can seek help.

Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau are offering advice to those who may face issues with homelessness.

The CAB’s Andrew Scobie said: “Christmas is a happy time for many, yet for others they will have to face difficulties such as domestic abuse, family breakdown, debt and addictions.

“Many of these issues will result in them being homeless over the festive period.

“Those becoming homeless at Christmas face the additional challenges of services being open at irregular hours over the festive period, meaning that they cannot access help and advice as readily as usual.”

The bureau has made homeless advice available 24 hours a day over Christmas.

A display has been set up in the bureau’s window which faces into Upper Craigs.

The display informs citizens how to tell if you are technically homeless and entitled to help, how to apply for help, and what sources of help are available in Stirling District including local charities and helplines.

The display will be lit up so that it can be viewed at any time day or night.

In addition to the window display the bureau’s ‘Homeless know your rights’ guide has been updated for 2016.

Physical copies of the guide are available from the bureau, and it can be downloaded from www.stirlingcab.org.uk.
