MSP Keith makes a date and gets some top advice

- Staff reporter

Clacks and Dunblane MSP Keith Brown this week endorsed a calendar which features advice for the elderly and has been produced by Age Scotland.

Each month the calendar looks at issues to help older people get prepared for winter, stay connected in their communities and remain healthy.

Called the `Hot Tips’ calendar, it has been funded by the Scottish Government and more than 20,000 copies have been produced.

Mr Brown said :“The calendar is a fantastic resource for older people and I would encourage my constituents to contact my office or pop in for their free copy.

“With winters becoming increasingly severe in Scotland, it’s important that people prepare for what can happen, and Age Scotland’s`HotTips’ contains everything you need to know to stay safe, secure and connected.”

Keith Robson, Age Scotland Deputy Chief Executive said:“We explore how to make your home comfortable, safe and warm as well as how to keep yourself mentally and physically healthy, through activities such as adult learning and walking football.

“We also provide other practical information that could help you save money thanks to contributions from national partners including Citizens Advice Scotland and Transport Scotland.”

Keith Brown’s office is at 39 Drysdale Street, Alloa, and he can be contacted on 01259 219333.
