But bosses take home first class pay
Despite failing to hit performance targets, executive members of Forth Valley NHS board continued to rake in pay and pension packages of more than £110,000 a year.
In the 12 months to March this year chief executive Jane Grant enjoyed a basic salary of between £130,000 and £135,000.
Director of public health Graham Foster was paid a salary of between £135,000 and £140,000 plus pension benefits of £30,000.
Director of finance Fiona Ramsay had a salary of £100,000 to £105,000 and pension benefits of £9000.
Human resources director Helen Kelly’s total package of between £155,000 and £160,000 comprised salary of between £100,000 and £105,000 and pension benefits of £54,000.
And £54,000 in pension payments was added to the salary of between £90,000 and £95,000 paid to director of nursing Angela Wallace, while medical director Tracey Gillies had a salary of between £160,000 and £165,000 and pension pot payments of £28,000.
The accounts also show that the payment package of consultant physician and cardiologist Allan Bridges dwarfed executive members of the board – and the salary of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
In the 12 months to March 31 Dr Bridges, a non-executive board member, earned between £185,000 and £190,000 in addition to pension payments of £72,000.
Dr Bridges, also associate medical director for medical services, had a total remuneration of between £255,000 and £260,000 and his accrued pension pot came to £1.35 million.
Ms Sturgeon is entitled to draw a total salary of £144,687 made up of a basic MSP salary of £59,089 plus an additional salary of £85,598 .
