Snow caused havoc on roads
Stirling was transformed into a winter wonderland yesterday (Thursday).
Snowfall in the early hours of the morning left several centimetres of snow on the ground, and difficult driving conditions for motorists.
There were reports of accidents on the roads, with routes around Aberfoyle particularly treacherous.
The northbound carriagway of the A9 was closed for around an hour at 6am when a jack-knifed lorry had to be removed from the Keir Roundabout.
There was also a minor collision on the A84 between Strathyre and Lochearnhead, with police saying the road was passable but conditions were difficult.
There were no schools closed in Stirling or Clackmannanshire, however Stirling Council warned that there will be some disruption to bin collections.
A spokesperson said:“The weather is impacting on our ability to access some routes and there is a possibility that there will be delays in waste collections in: Braehead, Broomridge, Bannockburn, Whins of Milton, St Ninians, and some rural access areas. For more information please phone 01786 404040.”
