Stirling County return to BT Premiership action tomorrow after a four-week break when they entertain league leaders Melrose at Bridgehaugh.

County, who are currently in sixth position in the league, will be looking to avenge their 25-17 defeat by the Borderers at The Greenyards in October.

The Bridgehaugh team will be keen to build on their pre-Christmas win at Gala, and keep the momentum going with another win to move clear of the relegation places.

They have three other league matches to follow – two at home and one away. On Saturday, January 21, Ayr visit Bridgehaugh while on Saturday, February 11 they meet Watsonians at Myreside before ending the season at home to Heriot’s on Saturday, February 18.

There is also a third round BT Cup tie at First Division Dundee HSFP on the agenda on Saturday, January 28.

The 2nd XV have already been in action when they played host to Boroughmuir 2nds on Saturday, winning 22-15 to stay in top of BT National Reserve League Division Two. County’s four tries were scored by Morgan Whitton, Callum Jardine, Michael Pomphrey and Mark Hunter with Logan Bonnar adding a conversion. On Saturday, they make the long journey north to meet Aberdeenshire 2nds, kick-off at Woodside Sports Complex is 2pm.

County’s youth teams are in National Youth League Cup quarter-final ties this weekend. On Saturday, the under 18s are at Biggar Colts while on Sunday, the Under16s play Boroughmuir at Meggetland - both matches kick-off at 2pm.

The ladies meet Ayr at Bridgehaugh on Sunday in a Premier League match. Kick off is 2pm.
