Game falls foul of winter conditions
County clash with Melrose is rescheduled
The winter weather prevented any rugby action at Bridgehaugh last weekend, with Stirling County’s BT Premiership match against Melrose being the main victim.
The match has been provisionally prearranged for Saturday, March 4, but before that County have three league fixtures to play, starting with a home match against joint leagueleaders Ayr on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
County, who are currently in seventh position in the league, will be looking to avenge their early-season defeat by the high-flying westcoast side at Millbrae.
County and Ayr will also be playing for the Cairdeas Quaich sponsored by United Auctions.
Elsewhere, County’s 2nd XV travel to play Dundee Titans in BT National Reserve League Division Two on Saturday, kick-off at Mayfield is 2pm and the 3rds - now confirmed as winners of BT Caledonia League Division Three Midlands (South) - play their final match away to Fife Southern, kick-off at Rosyth is 2pm.
The club’s under 16s narrowly lost 25-22 to Boroughmuir in quarter-final of the National Youth League Cup in a closely-contested match at Meggatland.
Big brothers in the Under-18s squad play Biggar Colts in their re-arranged National Youth League Cup quarter-final tie on Saturday at Hartree Mill at 2pm.
Stirling County forwards Fergus Bradbury, Calum Hunter-Hill and Adam Nicol and centre/ winger Craig Pringle have been selected for the Scotland Under-20 training squad, as they prepare for the forthcoming 2017 Under-20 Six Nations with warm-up games against Glasgow Warriors ‘A’ and Scotland Club XV later in the month.
Lunches are available before County’s 1st XV home BT Premiership matches at Bridgehaugh, with the next lunch on Saturday at 1pm before County v Ayr.
Cost is £15 for members/£25 for nonmembers (includes two-course lunch, match admission and seat in stand).
