Women’s poster contest

-

Aspiring artists are being invited to create images of women who inspire them.

Stirling and District Women’s Aid is running a poster competition to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.

The contest is open to all primary six and seven pupils in the Stirling area, with the brief to design an A4 poster about a woman who inspires them.

This can be images or words or a combination of both, but should include a small paragraph about why they are inspired by the particular woman.

The organisation’s Anna Cook said: “The inspirational woman can be anyone who they look up to - from women they know, to famous artists, scientists, astronauts, singers or politicians.

“This will encourage young people to think about the contributions of women to society and to be inspired by the things that women have achieved, making women more visible and in turn showing young girls that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to.”

Up for grabs are several exciting prizes including vouchers for Vue Cinema, Stirling Tenpin Bowling, Waterstones and The Macrobert Centre, and the winning poster will be used by Women’s Aid.

The deadline is Friday February 24. Post entries to: Stirling and District Women’s Aid, Poster Competition Entries, Unit 7, Stirling Arcade, Stirling, FK8 1AX.
