Teen acted

- Court reporter

An Aberfoyle man lost his temper after a concerned child phoned police.

Philip Wignall, of Limecraig Avenue, appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old previously pleaded guilty to charges of behaving in a threatening manner and resisting arrest at an address in the village on January 7.

The court heard that the accused had been having an argument with a woman with whom he was involved in an on-off relationship.

A 14-year-old in the house had called the police at 8.45pm, saying they were concerned about the argument. The man had left when police officers arrived, and they decided that no further action was required.

However, Wignall returned at 10pm, and inquired about police.

Fiscal depute Laura Knox said: “He asked the woman if the police were looking to arrest him, and she simply said `no’.

“The accused then spoke to his mother on the telephone. He heard that it was the child who had phoned the police, and this made him very angry.”

Wignall was said to have frightened the woman with his behaviour and language, and phoned the police.

“He said to the woman that he would smash her teeth and snap her neck,” Ms Knox added.

The man left the house before returning again.
