Stirling Wanderers 1st XI went down heavily to Fidra Lions in East District Division One match at Tranent on Satruday.

The home side scored two early goals then added two more just after the break.

A fifth goal near the end completed the rout, with the best Stirling efforts coming from Asif Rasool and Oliver Lowrie.

Garth Eklund was the hero for the seconds as Stirling came from behind in a hard-fought match with Peebles in Division Three at home.

Al Santi went close several times but was thwarted by the strong Peebles defence.

Stirling conceded against the run of play at a penalty corner shortly before the end of the first half. Just after the break Joost Mortier provided the assist which allowed Eklund to finish low and hard into the bottom corner.

Stirling pressed for the winner and Ross Mackay, Ian Bryson, Ian Brett all went close in the dying minutes, while keeper Matthew Taylor made a string of fine saves in the second half to earn the point.

The ladies 2nds went down 4-2 to Linlithgow in East Division Three at home.

The girls started well with a quick goal from M Riddell but Linlithgow replied before the break.

Riddell scored her second as Stirling dominated the first part of the second half, with the ball rarely leaving the opposition half.

A controversial decision led to a penalty flick which was converted by the visitors and the girls never quite recovered from the decision.

Linlithgow went on to rub salt in the wounds with two late goals.
