Greens announce their candidates
Greens have announced their line-up for the forthcoming Stirling Council elections in May.
They currently have one councillor, Mark Ruskell, who represents Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, but is standing down after being elected as MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife in the 2016 Scottish Parliament elections.
Alasdair Tollemache, who is standing in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, will be hoping to retain the seat vacated by Councillor Ruskell. Mr Tollemache helped set up Recyke-A-Bike, now located in Alloa Road, Stirling. He has, say the party, considerable knowledge of community development.
Chloe Campbell , who is standing in Stirling North, will be a graduate of the University of Stirling and, according to the Greens, has an empathy towards social equality.
Other candidates are: Bannockburn, Jennifer Tollemache; Forth and Endrick, Michael Marten; Stirling West, Kevin Ralston; Stirling East, Linda Hendry, and Trossachs and Teith, Gordon Cowtan.
Mr Tollemache said:‘’I’m excited to be standing so we can ensure that the next council has a strong Green voice to speak up for people and build on what Mark Ruskell has achieved in his time as our Green councillor.”
Chloe Campbell candidate for Stirling North said:‘’I believe it is very important that our council reflects our community and I’m looking forward to bringing a different perspective to the council and putting people at the heart of decision-making”.
