Blairlogie and District SWI John Russell gave an interestin­g talk on his hobbies of woodcarvin­g and painting, bringing along not only varied selection of his carvings and photograph­s of various larger projects, but also told of the local carving and craft group’s self-funded work and help centre. Members also welcomed Mrs Russell who accompanie­d her husband. Lunch club Meets Wednesdays in the Crawford Hall, Colquhoun Street, 1-3pm and the older members of the community are invited to go on their own or with a friend or carer. Nursery The 2017/18 school year starts on August 22. Children born between March 1, 2013-February 28, 2014 (in their pre-school year) are eligible to enrol for nursery. Children born between March 1-August 31, 2014 are eligible for nursery enrolment in August 2017 and children born between September 1, 2014-February 28, 2015 are eligible for nursery enrolment but will not be given a funded place until the term after their third birthday and will be considered for a place in September. Cambusbarr­on Nursery is now taking enrolments for the 2017/18 session. Enrolment forms are available from the school office and parents should complete these and return them by February 28.
