Taekwon-do club fight their way to medal haul
Stirling Ultimate Taekwon-do returned from the recent UTFS Scottish Open Taekwon-do Championships with a handful of medals for all the students and instructors.
The results were as follows: Rainbows: Alfie Willows - silver in stances; Kyle Rodger - gold in flying high and silver in sparring; Scott Jamieson - bronze in flying high.
Junior: Andrew Waddell - gold in flying high, silver in sparring and bronze in patterns; Aoife Devey - silver in flying high and bronze in sparring; Ruaraidh Docherty - gold in flying high and bronze in sparring; Alex Pettigrew - Silver in patterns, sparring and flying high; Alysha Jane Harvey Price - gold in sparring and flying high and bronze in patterns; Maythu Pettigrew - gold in flying high, silver in sparring and bronze in patterns; Rachel Brown - gold in patterns, sparring and flying high. There was also a great performance from Lois Nicol (yellow belt) which saw her finish just out of the medals.
Blackbelt - Juniors: Fraser Addie - bronze in sparring; Cameron McKenna - bronze in patterns and sparring; Alasdair Martin - gold in patterns and sparring. Veterans: Dave Rankin - gold in patterns and sparring; Chris McKenna - silver in patterns and sparring. Female: Liz McKenna - silver in patterns.
The club would like to say hank you to Maythu Pettigrew and Josh Broadley who put in extra time to assist the blackbelts with the refereering.
