Time to focus on some home work

-

Many of us have unfinished business in our homes and gardens.

Have a look around and think what needs done, or even finished, as spring is the perfect time to get going.

Whether it’s freshening up the spare room with a coat of paint, or re decorating the kids rooms, at this time of year we are often energised and ready to get our house in order.

Perhaps you have decided that this year you are going to change your life, well changing your environment is a great way to make your mark and let everyone know you mean business.

Think about fresh bright colour and dynamic features to really pick you up.

It may not even be a big project, but even changing a feature wall, and using accessories to make any room come alive, is easy and won’t cost the earth.

The good news too, is if you are looking at bigger developments in your home, there are many trusted companies that can offer you startling changes and designs that will make every day in your home seem like paradise.

As for house style the spring home collections are hitting the shops and the good news is that there’s something to suit every type of decorator, from lovers of classic florals to modernist mavens.

The trend for grey walls and Scandi-inspired furniture is waning: traditional furnishings are back in favour, albeit in peppy fabrics.

And as for those walls, interiors obsessives are currently tickled by all things pink. The future looks bright.

Then take a look out into the garden and think about ways to prepare it for the summer months ahead.

Now is the time to prepare for plants to bloom in summer and as March draws closer and your first cutting of the grass draws nearer, now is the best time to plan ahead.

You may want to consider new garden furniture to make sure you can entertain in style during barbecue season.

Pull out all dying annuals and make sure to eliminate all weeds.

This will prevent them from seeding and taking over your garden in the spring.

Sweep away the leaves, look at bulbs to plant for the spring and enjoy the last cut of the grass for the season.

So roll up your sleeves and prepare for an autumn house clean-up, as now is the time for your house to get set for the new season.

The key is to prepare for the new season in plenty time to give yourself a chance to sit back and enjoy your home in the cold, dark, winter months.

So why not really throw yourself into home and garden improvements this spring?

When your house becomes a sanctuary,a palace and a joy to be in, your whole life will change as a result.
