Simon King OBE will deliver a talk at the Albert Halls in aid of animal charity Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA).

The ticketed event, which has been arranged by Doune woman Isobel Ripley, will take place at 7.30pm on Monday April 24.

Simon, a presenter and cameraman who specialise­s in nature documentar­ies, will talk to the audience about his time filming Big Cat Diary, which was broadcast on the BBC between 1996 and 2008.

He will also show some previously unseen, yet spectacula­r footage.

Tickets are available through the Albert Halls box office, and are £20 for adults and £18 concession­s. All proceeds will go to SPANA.

There will be a raffle, with prizes including tickets to the Royal Highland Show and Blair Drummond Safari Park.

SPANA is a charity which works to improve the welfare of working animals in some of the world’s poorest communitie­s. This is achieved through treatment such as free veterinary care, training of vets and animal owners, and the teaching of children to develop respect towards animals.
