Be quick on the draw for Mum’s Day

There’s still time to submit your entries for this year’s Draw Your Mum Mother’s Day competition.

Budding young artists could make this Mothering Sunday 2017 on March 26 extra special for their mums.

The Stirling Observer has teamed up with The Thistles shopping centre to offer an exclusive prize package for the winning mum whose VIP For a Day experience will include a £50 voucher for The Thistles, a Bobbi Brown makeover and gift box and lunch for two at Debenhams restaurant.

The winning artist will not be forgotten, winning a £50 Toys R Us gift voucher.

One of the latest mums in the running is Lillian Gorham, who was drawn by daughters Brooke, aged 6, and Eva, aged 10.

Brooke said:“I love my mum because she looks after me. She helps me when I fall and tidies my room.”

Not content with telling us“I love my mum because she is kind and always cheerful”, meanwhile, Eva also wrote a poem for Lillian: My Mum is cool, My dad is cool, Everyone is cool Especially you, You make my life great, Everyone loves you, their (sic) is just one thing I need to say I LOVE YOU As many of the competition entries as possible are being published in the Observer and are also being displayed in The Thistles shopping centre.

To enter, draw a picture of your mum and write one or two sentences on the back, telling us why you love her.

Send it to: Mother’s Day Competition, Stirling Observer, 34 Upper Craigs, Stirling FK8 2DW by Monday, March 20, adding a name and contact number for your mum and with a short message about why you love your her. The contest is open to pre-school and primary school-aged children only.

The winner must be photographed and appear in The Observer.
