Choir anniversar­y

Strathendr­ick Singers will hold their 40th anniversar­y concert this weekend.

This year is also the 10th anniversar­y of their associatio­n with music director Mark Evans.

The choir was establishe­d in 1977 by a small group of friends and now has 50 members, drawing singers from several communitie­s of West Stirlingsh­ire.

Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ will be the main performanc­e in Killearn Kirk on Sunday at 7pm.

There will also be the premiere of Aran Browning’s ‘A Quiet Life’, written specifical­ly for the choir through a scheme called Adopt A Composer.

Radio 3 will record the performanc­e.
