Choir anniversary
Strathendrick Singers will hold their 40th anniversary concert this weekend.
This year is also the 10th anniversary of their association with music director Mark Evans.
The choir was established in 1977 by a small group of friends and now has 50 members, drawing singers from several communities of West Stirlingshire.
Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ will be the main performance in Killearn Kirk on Sunday at 7pm.
There will also be the premiere of Aran Browning’s ‘A Quiet Life’, written specifically for the choir through a scheme called Adopt A Composer.
Radio 3 will record the performance.
Tickets for the concert are £10 (under-16s free) from choir members. For more details see www. strathendricksingers.org.uk.
