Pool team ahead for polo finals
Two teams from Stirling Water Polo will play in the finals of the Scottish Championships in Dundee on April 23.
Last weekend, the girls under 19 and under 16 mixed team reached their respective finals in style. On Saturday the under 19s were at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh to play Portobello and although a tight game was expected, Stirling made a blistering start and played at a pace their opponents couldn’t live with.
The final score was 26-11 to Stirling who will now play Dunfermline in the final.
The following evening, the under 16s met Portobello at the Stirling University Pool and emulated the girls with a fast start that took the game beyond their opponents to run out 22-9 winners. Their opponents in the final will be either Menzieshill or Dunfermline.
