An elderly man has died after being involved in a crash last week.

The emergency services were called to Davies Row in Denny, near to the junction with Stirling Street at around 2.30pm on Thursday (March 23).

They received reports that a Honda Jazz had left the road and struck a stone wall before coming to a stop.

The driver, an 82-year-old local man, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment but passed away later that day.

Police said yesterday (Tuesday) that inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing and asked anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Michael Montague from the Road Policing Unit in Stirling said: “At this time we are still trying to establish why the car left the road and we are keen to hear from any motorists who were on Davies Row at the time of the incident on Thursday afternoon.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to our inquiries is also urged to get in touch on 101.”

A woman was also airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on the A811 near Balfron on Saturday morning.

A stretch of the road near Ballat Crossroads was closed for much of the day as police dealt with the incident – which happened at around 10.50am.
