The home side got the perfect start in this League Cup group game with league leaders Armadale. Aaran Blackley caught the away keeper out with a floated free kick from 30 yards out. The lead was doubled after 20 mins when a quick throw out from Kyle Middleton was passed down the wing to Kobe Furzer who crossed into the box for Lewis Morrow to score.

Armadale were rattled but pulled one back just before half-time, with their striker running through to score despite offside appeals from the defenders.

The home side were forced into making changes when Blackley and Harry Thomson were forced off with ankle injuries at the break.

Armadale started the second half with a goal inside a minute of the restart then quickly added a third and fourth within a 15-minute spell. Adam Sharp did pull one back with a fine swivelled shot from 25 yards into the top corner with five minutes to go but it was too little too late for Riverside.
