Openday forprivate landlords
Stirling Council is next month hosting a free event for Stirling’s private landlords and agents.
The private rented sector open day and conference is an annual event which provides an opportunity for landlords and agents to meet key players in Stirling’s private rented sector, gather information and seek advice.
Taking part will be representatives of the council, private sector housing teams, empty homes officer, Shelter’s Letting Agent Plus project, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Home Energy Scotland and approved tenancy deposit schemes.
Officials of the Scottish Government and Scottish Association of Landlords will be speaking about the new private residential tenancy and the first-tier Tribunal for Scotland.
A leading expert from the Housing and Property Chamber will discuss the `repairing standard’ while exploring real-life case studies.
Stirling National Heritage will also be in attendance, discussing their traditional buildings health check scheme, and Landlord Accreditation Scotland will present a session looking at recurring areas of interest from their national training programme.
Stirling Council’s director of localities and infrastructure, Alastair Brown, said: “We’ve already had significant interest from local private landlords and agents about this event. Last year we had over 100 delegates in attendance, who were keen to hear from experts and share best practice.
“I’m certain the upcoming open day will prove just as successful. Places are still available.”
This year the event will take place at the Albert Halls on May 9 from 1.30pm till 4.30pm.
