Black Pack clubman

-

A new MINI Cooper Black Pack Clubman variant is about to be launched in the UK as an exclusive model.

It costs £21,430 for Cooper Black Pack Clubman and £23,735 for the diesel-engined Cooper D Black Pack Clubman.

Designed exclusively for the UK market, the car offers 17-inch Black Net spoke wheels combined with Black bonnet stripes for a sleek, sporty finish.

The cabin features a Piano Black interior and multifunction steering wheel and there’s a MINI Black Pack badge on the rear doors.

Standard kit includes sat-nav, Bluetooth, cruise control and MINI Connected plus a MINI Excitement Pack which includes the brand’s logo projection.

MINI product chief Nicolas Griebner said:“The MINI Black Pack Clubman showcases the very best of MINI Clubman – a host of specially selected equipment combined with attractive visual options.”

I don’t sample commercial vehicles too often and that’s the sector Volkswagen’s Amarok is in.

But for drivers who need a tough go-anywhere pick-up along with a good bit of luxury - this could be an alternative to the many SUVs that are available.

My test model was a top-ofthe-range Amarok Aventura 3.0 V6 TDI 224ps 4Motion.

With its permanent fourwheel drive it has full off-road capability but my drive was confined to the tarmac.

It is an ideal load lugger for tradesmen, with a large 2.5 square metres cargo area that is so wide it can apparently house a Euro pallet sideways.

The tailgate flips down easily and my springtime garage clean-up was carried out with lots of room to spare and meant just the one visit to the local recycling centre.

The area, with four lashing rings, can be also be used to pack plenty of leisure
