Forth Valley businesses will gather

Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce will officially launch its 2017 business awards later this month.

The ceremony, now in its fourth year, will be held at Dunblane Hydro on September 21 to coincide with the Chamber’s fifth birthday.

Michelle McKearnon, chief executive of Forth Valley Chamber said: “The awards are the biggest business event in Central Scotland, attracting hundreds of high quality entries and over 350 guests annually to celebrate the best of Forth Valley. Interest in the event has grown year on year.

Sponsors include Stirling Council, Business Gateway, Highland Reserves & Cadets Associatio­n, Campbell’s Prime Meats and Family Business Solutions.

Alloa company SV24-7 is sponsoring this year’s entertainm­ent by Scots pipe and drum band Clanadonia, whose music features in hit TV drama Outlander.

Main speaker on the night will one of the social entreprene­ur Josh Littlejohn of Social Bite – the award winning and innovative social enterprise café chain which supports homeless people. Josh grew up in Blair Drummond and earlier this year was awarded an MBE for his charitable work. Chair of the chamber’s board of directors, Justin Grace added: “Josh will share the inspiring story of how he co-founded Social Bite.

“He will also give us an insight into his latest social ventures: Brewgooder, a craft beer label that donates all of its profits to clean water projects around the world, and Home by Maison Bleue, a restaurant
