Doune Castle is undergoing a £300,000 makeover to cope with fans of hit TV show ‘Outlander’.

The 14th century landmark is being renovated after visitor numbers skyrocketed when it was featured in the time travel series.

The castle has seen its visitor numbers soar by 44 per cent.More on page eight
