Buchlyvie man Evan (54) is standing as an independent candidate.
“I have stayed in the Forth and Endrick ward all of my life and I very much want to return to our ward being represented by a ‘local man for local issues’.
This election is all about local people and their issues, and I feel that councillors living in Stirling and beyond cannot represent them as effectively.
In recent years, the Forth and Endrick area has been neglected and I want to change that.
It is vital that the rural business community receives the level of support it deserves, as this makes a significant contribution to the local economy.
With news that Stirling has been successful in its recent City Deal bid, I want rural businesses to benefit from this major investment also.
Likewise, I will fight against any proposed cuts to education services.
It is imperative that the next generation have the best opportunities possible to develop themselves.
Rural roads maintenance, social care and open spaces are other essential services that I want to actively ensure are given top priority.
I would be privileged to represent the area and I very much hope the locals will give me their‘number one’vote on May 4.”
