Drymen Art Club exhibition

-

The popular Drymen Art Club annual exhibition takes place this weekend.

Over the winter months, 15-20 members have been working hard at their easels in the village hall on a range of pieces including still life, portrait, flowers, landscape, seascape, birds, animals, sunsets and reflections.

The already high quality of work has been stepped up a notch by an investment in Art Tutor DVDs with topics on composition, ink and wash painting and a range of mediums oils, acrylic and pastel.

Members can study during the painting session using the club DVD player or borrow the DVD or a book from the library to work on at home.

The exhibition and sale of paintings in the village hall will be open to the public tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, April 23 from 10am-5pm.

Admission is free and tea and coffee are available.

Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite painting and the artist of the framed painting with most votes will receive the coveted Wendy Shuker Prize - set up in memory of the former art club member in recognition of her long-standing service.
