Slow progress on speed limits
I have every sympathy for the residents of Braeval who wish the current 50mph speed limit outside their homes reduced to 30mph (Observer, April 14).
Every week I feel uneasy coming out of the Aberfoyle Golf Club and can appreciate the trepidation of residents who have to cope with speeding drivers daily.
It’s ridiculous that drivers are legally allowed to drive up to 50mph on a stretch of road with such bad visibility and it must be only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.
Stirling Council seems slower than other councils in bringing in measures to reduce speed. Hopefully, the council will act more swiftly to bring in a 30mph Braeval speed limit than they have in introducing a 20mph speed restriction to Kippen.
