We‘d love to hear your running stories

- Robert Fairnie

With the inaugural Stirling Scottish Marathon less than four weeks away, runners will likely be reaching the high point oftheirpunishingtraining regimes.

And, whether you are a seasoned marathon runner raising cash for charity or this is your first marathon, we’d like you to contact us with your stories.

In the coming weeks, we will be running articles previewing the big day on Sunday May 21 – and are keen to hear from as many of the 6500 taking part as possible.

The26.2mileeventbegins atBlair Drummond Safari Park and finishes beneath Stirling Castle.

The first 16-miles sees runners enjoy some of the most striking sights across the Stirling area, including Doune Castle, the University of Stirling and the Wallace Monument.

A 5k event which loops around the city centre will also take place on the morning of the marathon while the Great Stirling Family Mile will be held in the university grounds on the eve of the big day.

Organisers ,the Great Run Company, hope that the event will become one of the biggest and best marathons in the UK.

If you are running in any of the three events, and would like to be recognised in these pages for your hard work pounding the streets, email a few sentences outlining your reasons for taking part and how your training is going to news@stirlingobserver.co.uk.

We will also require your age, where in the Stirling area you are from and a small photo.
