Lunch with Judy Murray proved to be a fantastic success for Strathcarron Hospice on Sunday, raising almost £30,000.

More than 270 guests were in attendance at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro to support Strathcarron and hear from Judy, who entertained everyone with stories of her career and of course the success of her sons, Andy and Jamie.

VIP guests even had the “money can’t buy” experience of enjoying Judy’s company over lunch as a guest at their tables.

Judy told the Observer: “It was a fabulous day and I’m thrilled to have helped raise almost £30k for such a wonderful charity.”

The event was supported by many local businesses including Stirling Gin, Tapestry AV, and Secret Garden Dunblane.

Jewellers McMasters also designed and donated an exclusive diamond and amethyst pendant worth £600 and an auction prize of dinner for six, cooked and served in your own home by 2017 Masterchef contestant Billy Meikle reached £1,000.

Strathcarron event fundraiser Coleena Brodie said: “We would like to thank everyone who supported us, including Judy, who was such a fabulous speaker and entertained us all throughout the day.

“I’m thrilled to announce that we raised over £29,500 – enough to fully fund two days of care here at Strathcarron and an extra 375 hours of nursing care.

“We rely on the support of our local communities in order for us to care for terminally ill people and their families right across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.”

The hospice is now gearing up for its Walk ’n’ Rock event from noon on June 10 at The Helix in Grangemouth. Participants can take part in either the 5k or 10k routes and enjoy live music on the Great Lawn as well as acoustic acts along the route.
